Dancing to music there, most weekends. Plenty of room for everyone, all ages. Friendly atmosphere, friendly people. If you want food or a place to stay, they have that too. Great gin bar 😊
Good atmosphere and very friendly staff. Our room, a twin is small and the decor is tired. The shower was particularly poor. We were on a golf trip and found the Sportsman well located.

Our family has spent a lovely weekend at Cadleigh Manor. Amazing hospitality from Sharon and Steve. With home grown fruit followed by a delicious cooked breakfast our days started perfectly. Highly recommended and we hope to be back to see them both and enjoy the lovely local countryside in the not too distant future.
Fabulous stay with amazing breakfast! Sharon and Steve the owners were lovely, friendly and attentive! Would definitely recommend this b&b to anyone visiting the area. We had a fabulous 3 night stay as a group of 11adults and children! x

Fantastic tradional local pub! Always made to feel extremely welcome and has very friendly locals / clientele. Always fun and a bit of banter in the bar. Beer garden, pool & darts also available. Monday night quiz is at 9pm and great fun, it’s free with give always and hosted by Dave the landlord.... always a laugh! Thursday curry night is always a great night, curry and a drink for only £6.50 (other food options also available).... it’s a must! With steak night Wednesday, live music and karaoke on some Saturdays, Sunday roasts, senior lunches on a Wednesday, euchre, poker, darts teams.... this traditional local pub has something for everyone!
Good food and friendly staff old style pub makes a change to all these modern pubs well worth a visit

Good service and food. If you fancy a bus trip from Plymouth the Stagecoach "gold" from Royal Parade stops at the cinema (formally town hall) stop and you can see the place. Just around the next corner is amother stop. Last bus just after 9:45 PM is handy for an after dinner return.
We were greeted by friendly young staff who asked us to sit and they would deliver our drinks order. The lunch menu was varied and appetising. Our selections were promptly delivered with a delicious salad which was much more than just garnish and a bowl of the best chips I can recall eating. The establishment itself is charming with a lot of wood and brickwork. Just one word of warning BEWARE THE LOW DOORWAY ON ENTRY. I can assure you it hurts. Fortunately the rest of my experience there made up for it.

Very well equipped, cosy and comfortable and clean. The helpful and friendly owners are close at hand if needed. There are information leaflets; books and Dvd'S to borrow. Dogs are allowed which is great as the area is great for dogs. Would definitely go back with our dog.
We had a great time staying at blackadon Barn cottages. We stayed in buzzard cottage. It has 10 bedrooms, over two floors. Unfortunately there is no access between the two floor internally and if you want to go between floors you have to walk all the way around which was a bit of a pain. Upstairs the rooms for the most part were nice and spacious all with on suites. A really well stocked kitchen that can easily accommodate the size of party expected. The dinning area and Livingroom were brilliant easily fitting all 20 of our party. It was lovely to find a place that can accommodate such a large group and have the space for us all to eat together. There were a few minor issues things like gas rings not working on the cookers, one rooms sockets didn't work. Downstairs was a bit damp. There were only two black bins for all of the cottages which isn't really enough with them being able to accommodate over 30 people. There is wifi however in most of buzzard cottage upstairs and down it couldn't be connected to as the signal was too weak. Although you don't go on holiday to go on the internet it is sometimes essential for finding local attractions etc. Parking is limited especially with there being 20 of us with 5 cars and other guests. Some of the cottages have allocated spaces but buzzard cottage has none and it did feel a little like all the cars were in the way. The owners were very welcoming and very helpful with advice about places to go and things to do in the local area. I've been really picky here to give you a good idea of the place but a 4 star rating is well deserved especially for the price.
If you would like something truly different you might like to have a look at Airbnb. These are mostly B and Bs provided by people on a very informal basis. The may have a spare room, a yurt, a cottage or a barge with space they can receive guests for a night or a month! The website is highly professional. You can really see what you are going to get. Very well worth a look. Airbnb also show 'conventional' B&Bs as well. Enjoy!
